1st Grade Unit 2: Cracking The Code – Math and Language Adventures (Digital Set)

The Unit 2 of our interdisciplinary unit-style learning First Grade curriculum, is designed to spark curiosity and inspire every child, whether destined to be the next mathematician or word wizard. The Unit 2 of our First Grade set is divided into three sections:

From understanding place value to decoding the significance of time in society, children engage in creative expression and tackle time-based word problems with confidence.

2. Financial Literacy and Mathematical Applications: Here, children unravel the story of money and its mathematical intricacies, exploring art and design in currency and the practicalities of saving, spending, and prioritizing. Through real-life scenarios, children develop a nuanced understanding of financial decisions and the emotions tied to value.

3. Geometry and Measurement: In this final section, young learners dive deeper into the realms of geometry and measurement. They uncover the secrets of shapes, spatial connections, and measurement techniques, discovering how they permeate art, culture, and our environment. From identifying various shapes to grasping concepts like length, height, weight, volume, and time, children embark on an exploration of different measurement systems and their cultural importance.
